The block is made from bamboo, so is quite light, probably not the best material as the block can fall over if you put the knives on one side. Quality of build and finish is very good and it looks very nice.

This is a terrible product. You cannot put any knives in this unit. It is made of low quality wood that no matter how you place the knife, the whole block will fall over. When I raised this with the vendor, they refused to compromise to refund half. I even offered to send it back. I escalated this to AliExpress and they have agreed that the product is badly made. Thankfully they are refunding me fully.
